“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you.” — Jane Goodall
Grace holds an Associate of Science degree in General Education from Salt Lake Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Community Studies from the University of Utah. Her interest in non-profit piqued in high school while volunteering with Kindred Spirits, a fine arts organization where children with and without disabilities work with peer mentors and educators to learn about art and community.
During her first few years in college, Grace studied non-profit management – taking prerequisite courses in funding, human resources, and finance. She was the Treasurer of the Social Work club at Salt Lake Community College and collaborated on the club’s Food Pantry pilot program.
Grace interned with the International Rescue Committee under the Youth Development team, coordinating after-school care and housing placements for newly arrived individuals and families with school-aged children.
In 2015, Grace travelled to South Africa, Mozambique, and Swaziland to volunteer with the International Student Volunteers, Youth Development program. She and her team refurbished an elementary schoolhouse, designed, and implemented an after-school soup kitchen, and configured educational software plus equipment for fellow educators. This experience gave Grace a deep, and meaningful perspective on community action, communication, and connection which translated well into her career.
Grace spent the last five years working in a technical and client facing operational role – managing team members and collaborating in the execution of expansion markets for a Real Estate startup brokerage.
In her spare time, Grace enjoys traveling – immersing herself in culture and community, biking, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
